Susan Herndon: Guestbook
March 30, 2016
I'm the guy clapping for you at Will Rogers airport Tue., 3-29-2016 around 4pm. You played "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young, who I had told you I liked a lot. There was something "cosmic' about our meeting, and I would like to keep in touch. It is obvious you have no problem booking dates to play, as I read your scheduled dates, but I do know several venues in the Denver/Boulder area who would love to have you play!
Don't know if you are married, but on a personal level, I experienced a personal attraction which I haven't felt since my son's mother ODd and died in 1990. If you are married, just consider this as a compliment, if not, please consider contacting me for possibly a casual social meeting again. As Neil said, "when we were strangers, I watched you from afar". Would be very special if we knew each other better. I'm kind of a romantic idealist, but I read your "bio' and I believe you are as well. Let me know, OK? ( e-mail or cell,(wrote it in your book at the airport) Rick S.

We met today at Green Country Village and you were gracious enough to share a copy of "All Fall Down" with me before moving over to your second set.
After listening to this great collection tonight, I would like to share my thoughts:
---This is a tasteful mix of styles and instruments, all of which you seem very comfortable with...nice
---You're a strong songwriter, Susan... I could easily see Sara Watkins (Pull) and Beth Nielson Chapman (Everything to Me) recording YOUR songs....
---Dry Bones and Dust...wow
---OK Girl....you had too much fun recording this...
---Great writing on "Bad Roads..." have we passed each other on highway 75 to Dallas? (my daughter lives in Round Rock).
---Susan...you're a talented writer and a gifted musician. I trust you are proud of this body of work, as you should be. I hope to see you in the northwest corner of Oklahoma again soon. Should you find yourself in Bartlesville, let me know--lunch is on me.

I really enjoyed hearing you last night. I've heard great
things about you from the guys (Mike McCarty, Bob French, Terry Ware, etc.) and I see why they like you so well! Sorry to dwell on a sad note, but here is a link to Tim's obit. Maybe some of this will be familiar to you as someone who taught at Cascia Hall. http://obitsforlife.com/obituary/184036/Malloy-Timothy.php

August 6, 2014
Hey Suzie, loooonnngggg time, no talk...or see. I asked Hap to send me a link to your website, as I had heard you were a successful musician and I wnatred to check out your music.....which I really like a lot now that I;ve heard some of it. My wife, Becky, and I moved back to Tulsa about a year ago to help care for my folks (it's really tough watching your parent's health fail....I know you know that). We'd really like to hear you perform, but we'll be at our getaway place in the hill country of Texas on the 27th when you are playing in Tulsa, so we'll miss you then. If you are ever in Fredericksburg, TX we have a little place we built in the country by Luckenbach and you are welcome to use it.....we call it Chill Hill. It's on a secluded private road and has great views....great place to relax and unwind. As an FYI, my daughter Allie is starting a new job tomorrow in NY with a company called Ticket Window. It's a small startup, and I'm not exactly tuned in to what their busines model is, but if you're ever interested in playing in the NY area, she can probably work with you to get some bookings. She's loved music her entire life, and is very excited to be starting this new job in the music business. My younger daughter Laura, lives in Austin and I've told her to look for you and go catch a set when you are there. We're looking forward to coming to see you play in Tulsa, or in Austin....it's only an hour from our place in F'burg. If you ever play at Luckenback, or F'burg, we'd love to come see you there too. Congrats on liv'in the dream of music! Looking forward to seeing you again...take care.
June 13, 2014
Hi, Susan! We miss you in Bartlesville. We see you are in B'ville Tues. the 17th. Where will you be? We would love to come see you. At 12:15?

January 13, 2014
or at least, your fan the for longest time, i'll bet. after roy h.(?), anyway. ;-) before you could strum a chord, or speak a word of french, as far as i knew.
thought of you (not the first time in 30 years, believe me), but this time, hello. i see you've gathered many fans since, and i'm sure you're busy, but i'd love to hear from you, about anybody or anything, if you'd like, and have the time. :-).
wishing you the best, over long distance and time,

Hi Susan!! It is so good to see you again. Your web page is just beautiful and full of great pictures of you. It pleases me to see that you are touring the country and doing what you love best. Paula and I live in Seguin Texas now near our daughter Linda and her family. I see you will be coming to Austin in the Fall. I hope to attend one of your gigs there. It would be so good to hug again.
June 13, 2013
Susan, loved both your shows in B'vill on Wednesday. Glad i finally got a cope of Quiet Cave, thanks.
May 29, 2013
I am your biggest fan. I tell everyone I meet that you should be a huge star! You should be on TV every night. Sheryl Crow can't carry your gig back, IMHO. I would go to every one of your shows if I lived anywhere near Oklahoma. But I live in Mortimer, CA. It sucks to be me, actually.

Very nice to meet you at Tres Cantina......3 girls and some great music.....
May 13, 2013
I would really love to hear you cover Springsteen's "Thunder Road" some time. How very cool would that be? I bet it'd be even cooler than Mary Lou Lord's version of it, and I think that track's pretty awesome. Please, will you? I can hear the screen door slam from here!!
May 6, 2013

Seeing you at Barking Rocks tonight was beyond amazing. You really touched my heart with your music. Playing music is and will always be my passion. Thank you for one if the best evenings that I can remember. Also thank you for letting me play a couple of tunes. If you ever need a musician to sit in, I will gladly do it for free. Just to play with you would be an honor. I play by ear and i can usually play anything that is thrown my way. Thank you again for a most enjoyable evening.
August 5, 2012
Hope you had a productive summer thus far. Will try to catch a performance.

Sitting here listening to "Everything to Me" which we purchased at Garden Deva's open house. To get through the holidays I've put my precious son somewhere deep in my heart for now; he died 12/2/2008. That is why I so much enjoyed your singing "And When I dIe"; because I had my first grandchild born 9/5/2008. Her uncle never met her; but she is the best of both my worlds.
I cry with this song; I need to cry and you have allowed than in me again

You did the opening of the Myriad Botanical Gardens in OKC. Recently. I'm The little ole guy in the wheelchair that had to show the children what to do with the fountain.
I enjoyed your singing and see the beauty of your music.
Thank you for entertaining us. It was great to see you smile, laugh and enjoy entertaining us. God bless you girl.
God bless and thanks for a moment of joy to see the children go bananas in the fountain and listen your heart singing.

Hi out there Luv. Hope last nite @ Port Aransas went well. Can't see why it shouldn't have unless you ate way too much yummy fresh sea food. Isn't a lingering impression the marker of good art? Your sweet voice plays over and over in my heart, warming, passionate, meaningful, and lingering. I'm so glad I heard your voice over the whine of my Miata as I drove by the cafe. I played your albums as I drove north through the San Juan mountains. The beauty outdoors seemed a fitting backdrop to the beauty of your music. Now that I've visited your website, I find my thoughts about you as a musician are shared by many. I wish you every good thing. Thanks for making a spot of joy and for bringing much nourishment to my soul.
August 18, 2011
I was blessed to have wandered in to Vino for your performance in Manzanita wednesday night. Anyone who curls and flexes their toes while hitting the big notes... well, bonus points for that. And you have excellent hands, Oaklahoma or Texas workin' hands evidently. I am enjoying your disk, and fondly rememembering the live set. Thanks for stopping at the coast for a just a small gig. I hope the coastal air was friendly to your voice. You were very much appreciated.
July 22, 2011
Your version of La Fille du Nord is beautiful. thanks...

Its wierd how much I identify with your music. I like it alot, you sound a little like Joni Mitchell.

Love the name and love the music. Only bad side is when people google search me, you and your great voice pop up everywhere. Then people expect me to be a great singer like you, which sadly I am not.
Keep doing what you doing. I wish you the best in everything.

Thank you so much for coming to the B-ville farmers market this morning and performing under some very inhospitable conditions. I have been listening to one of the CD's that I purchased and really enjoy it. You are a great songwriter and I hope you keep up the good work.
You really write from the root. I hope that you come back to visit us again or will catch you at OK Mozart.
Thanks again and good luck!
